Acupuncture & Moxabustion

acupuncture1

Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles into the body at precise points which have been shown to be effective in the treatment of specific health problems. These acupuncture points have been mapped by Chinese practitioners over a period of two thousand years. Yet, it was only recently that advanced electromagnetic research has confirmed the validity of these locations.

Acupuncture is part of the complete medical system of traditional Chinese medicine. It is a method that encourages the body to promote natural healing and to improve functioning.

Moxabustion is a dried natural Chinese herb also known as mugwort or artemesia. This herb is heated and placed on specific areas of the body. The warmth generated is used to improve blood circulation and thus eliminate pain, as well as protect against colds and flu by boosting immunity, and strengthening the body. Some clinics use new breakthrough technology, without smoke, odor or ash, to produce remarkable results through this advanced herbal heat therapy.

Herbal Medicine

chinese-herbal-medicine1

Chinese Herbal Medicine has always been an important aspect of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Chinese Herbal Medicine can greatly enhance the effects of Acupuncture, especially in the treatment of chronic disease where daily therapy is crucial to achieving significant and lasting relief.

Chinese herbal formulas typically consist of at least two to several herbs carefully chosen to enhance and balance one another while targeting both the symptoms and the underlying cause of your condition.

Although acupuncture was the first Chinese modality to gain wide acceptance in the West, Chinese herbal medicine is quickly establishing itself as one of the most popular and effective alternative therapies in the West.

Sports / Deep Tissue Massage

therapeutic-massage

Sports Massage therapy is integral to the maintenance of good health and complementary to our other therapeutic programs. I believe massage is the most fundamental of all healing techniques. Massage is so basic to nature that we do it automatically. The point is that massage is the most naturally healing thing you can do. Where I differ from my competition is that for my therapeutic and swedish massage program, the nurturing touch is simple, instinctual, and more powerful than anyone can imagine. I strive to use this program to help my clients reduce stress, alleviate depression, reduce pain, and boost their immune system. There are literally dozens of these therapies but my program is dedicated to educating and supporting my clients to achieve their optimal health and wellness. If you are one of the many people who believe that it is very important to relax your mind and body periodically so as to maintain your health and vitality.

Cupping Treatment

cupping-treatmentCupping is the best deep tissue massage available. Cupping is an ancient Chinese method of causing local congestion. A partial vacuum is created in cups placed on the skin either by means of heat or suction. This draws up the underlying tissues. When the cup is left in place on the skin for a few minutes, blood stasis is formed and localized healing takes place. Cupping therapy has been further developed as a means to open the ‘Meridians’ of the body. Meridians are the conduits in the body through which energy flows to every part of the body and through every organ and tissue. There are five meridians on the back that, when opened, allow invigorating energy to travel the whole length of the body. It has been found that cupping is probably the best way of opening those meridians. Cupping has also been found to affect the body up to four inches into the tissues, causing tissues to release toxins, activate the lymphatic system, clear colon blockages, help activate and clear the veins, arteries and capillaries, activate the skin, clear stretch marks and improve varicose veins.
